Best Installation Method

(I currently need Mac instructions from someone for this)

WINDOWS:

If you have an original WWII Online Blitzkrieg CD or WWII Online Readers Choice Edition CD...don't use them. There are no patches old enough to get you up to the current version.

If you do not have any version installed:

1) Download the Full Install from here: http://www.wwiionline.com/scripts/wwiionline/downloads.jsp If you have trouble downloading the file, look HERE.

If you have dial-up or intermittent network problems, you may want to use a download manager, which lets you resume downloads which either got dropped or you manually stopped: http://www.getright.com/ or http://gozilla.com/index.htm

2) Install the game, following the onscreen instructions. There will be an install for WWIIOL as well as Playgate.

You should be done and good to go. See How to Log In if you need help there.

If you have a version installed:

1) Start the game in "Practice Offline" mode (which can be done by simply opening ww2.exe in your WWIIOL directory)

2) Check the version in the lower-left.

3) If you have version 1.6.7 or previous, then go into Add/Remove Programs and uninstall both WWII Online and Playgate. You'll have to download the full version as there are no patches to get you to the current version. See the first section after you have uninstalled everything.

4) If you have version 1.6.8 or newer, go into Add/Remove Programs and uninstall Playgate.

5) Download and install the latest Playgate from here: http://www.wwiionline.com/scripts/wwiionline/downloads.jsp If you have trouble downloading the file, look HERE.

6) Install Playgate.

7) Log in and let Playgate Autoupdate you.

See How to Log In if you need help there.
